Resumo: Este artigo tem com objeto de análise identificar o debate sobre a violência enfrentado pela população infanto-juvenil na contemporaneidade. Procura, também, situar os marcos regulatórios, jurídicos, mapeando as questões os e problemas mais imperiosos que afetam a infância e a juventude, e a forma pela qual o estado exerce sua proteção, por meio da concepção e implantação de políticas públicas sociais. O presente texto pretende pontuar algumas questões que perpassam o quadro de violência que a sociedade brasileira atravessa, em relação à situação da infância e juventude. Não tem, no entanto, a pretensão de esgotar a discussão dada à complexidade na qual a temática está inserida e a dificuldade de pontuá-la por uma única visão. Ela é complexa, multifacetária e a compreensão do fenômeno pressupõe uma abordagem multidisciplinar, até porque não existe uma única forma de violência, mas várias violências que só podem ser entendidas, nas suas particularidades, nos contextos nos quais se apresentam, na realidade social.

Abstract: This paper intends to identify the debate on the violence faced by the childhood and youthful population in the contemporary times. It also seeks to point out the regulatory marks and the most relevant questions and problems that affect childhood and youth, and the form through which the state exerts its protection, by means of the conception and implementation of the social public politics. The present paper intends to show the picture of violence that the Brazilian society crosses nowadays, in relation to the situation of childhood and youth. It does not have, however, the pretension to exhaust the quarrel given to the complexity in which the thematic is inserted and the difficulty to show it from an only point of view. The situation is complex, and the understanding of the phenomenon has to consider multidisciplinary aspects, because there is not an exclusive form of violence, but many ones, that can only be understood, in its peculiarities, among the contexts in which they are presented, in the social reality.
